Why Eat School Meals?

Did you know that school meals are better for you than most meals brought from home?
Research indicates that reimbursable school meals provide three times as many dairy products, twice as much fruit, and seven times more vegetable amounts than lunches brought from home. The research also concluded that “reimbursable" school lunches were lower in fat, provided more nutrients overall and offered more variety than lunches brought from home. Let’s compare a school lunch to a popular commercial brand “Lunchables".
